Don’t Let The Lights Go Out
Salfords Lads & Girls Club

Role: Creative Director & Creative

IDEA: To stop the light going out on The Salford Lads and Girls Club we reminded the public that they gave us The Smiths using ONE iconic lyric.

“Can you help raise £250,000 to save the Salford Lads and Girls Club?”

The club that's at the heart of the Salford community. The club that helps keep local kids off the streets. The club where some of the most famous indie bands were formed - Happy Mondays, New Order, The Smiths.

If Salford Lads and Girls Club hadn't existed - neither would the amazing lyrics The Smiths gave us. We launched with the poignant lyric:

“There is a light and it never goes out”

Imagining... what if the light did go out on the club?

Channels: TVC, DOOH, OOH, Social.

A black flyer with large white text that reads, "There is a light and it never goes out." Smaller text at the bottom encourages donations to the Salford Lads & Girls Club and includes a QR code and the words "Save the Salford Lads & Girls Club." The club's name appears again in smaller white text at the bottom right.

Projection on the brick building displays a quote: "There is a light and it never goes out" with a small attribution to The Smiths. The building is lit with warm exterior lights, has large arched windows, and a green door. There is a street sign that reads 'Cromation St.'.
